OCDI is a program for adults 18 and older with moderate to severe or treatment-resistant OCD and its most common co-occurring disorders such as major depression and anxiety disorders. Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required
- Medication Administration Program Certified [MAP - Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Department of Public Health required
- One-year patient care or related experience preferred, preferably in a psychiatric setting
- Time Management.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team.
- Maintains a commitment to professional growth and competency.
- All employees must possess basic computer skills to use a variety of electronic or online systems (PRISM) for communication, clinical and administrative purposes.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's Degree Related Field of Study preferred
- 1-2 years preferred
- Familiarity with Epic preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provides direct patient care in accordance with current treatment plan, under the supervisor of the Nurse Manager, Clinical Coordinator and Charge Nurse.
- Provides and supervises community activities according to needs.
- This may include driving & transporting patients to and from activities in hospital vehicles.
- Remains awake and alert, at all times, while on the job.
- Assists patients in maintaining and keeping various appointments.
- Clear, concise, and timely documentation and shift notes.
- Establishes relationships with patients that are helpful and maintains professional boundaries.
- Participates in patient rounds, status checks, or teams per program guidelines.
- Completes assigned patient care tasks per program guidelines and/or daily assignment sheet.
- Works effectively to manage the therapeutic milieu.
- Provides patients with direction and supervision as needed.
- Follows established hospital & program policies, procedures, and protocols.
- Communicates information regarding patient milieu/therapeutic environment to appropriate staff in a timely manner.
- Communicates observations related to medication side effects, physical and emotional changes to appropriate medical staff in a timely manner.
- Encourage patients in their activities of daily living.
- Assesses sleep patterns and assists patients to develop more appropriate sleep cycles notifying clinical team as necessary.
- Completes mandatory annual in-service requirements, including but not limited to: CPR and de-escalation.
- Attends and participates in rounds and case conferences when appropriate.
- Physical ability for participation in patient activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
