About The Position

The Community Relations Specialist provides routine and complex administrative and technical work in support of all departments as they promote the City of Auburn Hills to the local community and beyond. The position emphasizes videography, design, and photography initiatives, including promoting Downtown Auburn Hills, the Auburn Hills business community, and the benefits of living in Auburn Hills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Media Relations, Journalism, or a related field, plus two years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible experience.
• Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Premiere Pro, Adobe After Effects, and Adobe InDesign.
• Working knowledge of modern marketing, media, and public relations principles and practices.
• Extensive positive public interaction.
• Ability to accurately record and maintain records.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
