About The Position

Herzing University's Minneapolis Campus currently has a Community Relations Specialist opening! The Community Relations Specialist plays a key role in enhancing Herzing University’s brand visibility and fostering strong relationships with the community, employers and clinical partners. Some travel (approx. 40%) will be required with potential for overnight stay. Typical schedule will be Monday through Friday with occasional weekends or evenings.

Requirements

  • Associate degree, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • At least 2 years of experience in event planning, recruitment, community engagement or related experience preferred.
  • Experience in employer outreach, sales or networking preferred.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We do not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Leads community outreach efforts and recruitment initiatives.
  • Independently plans and executes presentations to employers with minimal support from supervisor.
  • Partners with supervisor to conduct employer outreach and territory building.
  • Coordinates and leads events on campus or with community partners.
  • Attend community outreach events and other special events to enhance the brand and reputation of Herzing University and obtain student inquiries.
  • Create and distribute communications to internal and external stakeholders to promote university-hosted activities and community events.
  • Respond to inquiries from community members and other interested parties, coordinating with appropriate spokespeople or information sources when necessary.
  • Collaborate with the marketing and social media teams to promote campus and community events, boosting awareness and supporting the university’s brand.
  • Partner with the Senior Director of Community Relations to standardize processes for building and maintaining relationships with clinical partners, employers, and community organizations.
  • Partner with Admissions and marketing teams to promote events and activities through social media and other channels.
  • While attending events and community engagement activities, the Community Relations Specialist will identify potential clinical and campus partnerships.
  • Collaborate on programs and events to strengthen relationships with clinical and externship partners.
  • Engage with local employers to identify job opportunities aligned with academic programs.
  • Assist in organizing and attending career fairs to connect graduates with employers, benefiting both the community and the university's reputation.
  • Work with Career Development and the Alumni Association to increase alumni engagement, support reenrollment efforts, and drive referrals.
  • As with all University staff and faculty, operates with the highest level of ethics and integrity at all times.
