About The Position

This internship offers an enriching experience for individuals seeking personal and professional growth by making a tangible impact and developing essential skills in community building and relationship management. Under general supervision, assists with the development and implementation of community outreach initiatives, events, and programs to support the Town’s mission and values. This position is classified as non-exempt and is subject to the Fair Labor Standards Act overtime regulations.

Requirements

• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED program required.
• Current enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, public administration, business administration, or other related field.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Town employees and the public.
• Ability to work independently and part of a team.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and a positive attitude.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.

Responsibilities

• Creates engaging social media content and campaigns across Town platforms.
• Captures and edits photography and videography for social media, newsletters, websites and other Town communications.
• Designs graphics, flyers, digital content, and other visual materials using Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or similar platforms.
• Assists in the marketing, preparation, and delivery of Knightdale special events.
