About The Position

The Springfield-Greene County Parks Department is seeking a Community Recreation Services Administrator to lead and innovate in its General Recreation Division. This role involves serving as the administrator for SPARC, Archery, and Outdoor Initiatives programs, leading strategic planning and program development for special-use facilities, conducting data analysis to measure program performance, and collaborating with various stakeholders to enhance recreational offerings. The position offers the opportunity to create engaging, inclusive programs, make a lasting impact on community health and wellness, and work within an award-winning park system.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Physical Education, Business Management, Facility Management, Event Management, International Affairs, Environmental or Conservation areas or a closely related area
  • Four years of experience in developing and supervising recreational community center programs, environmental/conservation education, tennis centers, agricultural development, school-park programs, safety and risk management programs, international affairs/cultural programs, or sports programs depending upon assignment
  • Valid Motor Vehicle Operator's license (if operating a motor vehicle for job duties)
  • Proof of United States Citizenship/Authorization to Work in the United States
  • Completion of the City of Springfield on-line application in its entirety

  • Certified Park & Recreation Professional (CPRP)
  • Certifications appropriate or typical to specific divisional areas
  • United States Professional Tennis Registry (USPTR) and or United States Professional Tennis Association (USPTA) if assigned to Tennis
  • Safety certifications based upon assignment
