As a Community Pharmacy Technician, you will perform a wide range of routine and complex pharmaceutical duties in support of pharmacy operations. Relieves the Pharmacist of duties related to the intake of new prescription information and the handling of Schedule II controlled substances per MA Board of Pharmacy regulations. Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Active and unrestricted Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Massachusetts or willing and able to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • 1+ years of retail pharmacy experience
  • Access to reliable transportation

Nice To Haves

  • Nationally Certified Pharmacy Technician through PTCB, CPhT, or NHA
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty
  • American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Certified in Immunization Administration by an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (“ACPE”) accredited training program or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • 2+ years of experience in a retail pharmacy or outpatient pharmacy setting

Responsibilities

  • Support pharmacists by processing prescriptions, entering data, and preparing medications including compounding and labeling
  • Deliver excellent customer service during medication pick-up, payment processing, and counseling offers
  • Manage inventory, receive and inspect shipments, price and store medications, and restock clinical areas
  • Administer vaccines, report safety events, and contribute to quality improvement and departmental initiatives
  • Collaborate effectively with the pharmacy team, uphold compliance with regulations, and maintain required certifications
