About The Position

Provides Mobile Integrated Health Paramedic Services providing emergency medical care in the pre-hospital environment according to Paramedic Protocols and Policies approved by SSHS and the ALS system Medical Director. Performs other duties related to the provision of care and development of the community EMS system. Assists in the Hospital as assigned after appropriate credentialing.

Requirements

  • Prior experience as a provider of pre-hospital care in an emergency setting
  • VDL - Valid Drivers License
  • Verification of an acceptable motor vehicle driving record, at time of hire, with annual verification required thereafter.
  • EMT- P - Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic
  • ACLS - EMS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support)
  • BLS - EMS (Basic Life Support)
  • Moderate word processing, database, presentation and spreadsheet skills required.
  • Basic email and internet skills required. Ability to learn specific job related software applications.
  • Must maintain a high degree of academic and practical knowledge in emergency paramedicine, and must attend sufficient continuing education classes, courses and seminars both on and off duty to maintain annual paramedic certification, as required by the State of Massachusetts

Responsibilities

  • Responds to requests for paramedic services from area departments in a timely and safe manner.
  • Completes documentation and records according to department policy.
  • Ensures vehicle and equipment are ready for response at all times.
  • Renders pre-hospital medical care at the paramedic level.
  • Performs assigned duties in the emergency department under the supervision of the ED physicians.
  • Acts as a team leader in dealing with emergency responses.
  • Takes proper care of vehicle and equipment.
  • Pursues new levels in Paramedicine technology and participates in activities which contribute to professional growth and development.
  • Participates in community activities which improve the public's understanding of the EMS system.
  • Completes Hospital at Home Admission Process while using In patient platform of EPIC.
  • Collaborate with Hospital at Home Hospitalist and Virtual Nurses.
  • I Stat/ Ultrasound guided IV Competencies.
  • Participate in team huddles related to Hospital at Home.
  • Participate in Hospital at Home related training and staff meetings.
  • Remote Patient monitoring set up and trouble shooting.
  • Provides Hospital At Home Education to patients and their families in the hospital at home setting.
