Under the direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the Community Outreach Worker (COW) is responsible for assisting Women’s Health Services staff in providing patient support for those in need of or qualified for women’s health related services. The COW will participate in activities that include but are not limited to, educating the community about women’s health services, family planning, cancer prevention, and other related needs in clinical and community settings, completing health related screenings, and assisting with linkage to care and services for people with identified medical and socio-economic needs. The Community Outreach Worker represents and attends local health fairs and community events. The Community Outreach Worker must be able to work in conjunction with the Women’s Health RN Case Manager, clinical staff, organizations, and agencies to identify and address needs. The demonstration of knowledge and skills to appropriately communicate and interact with staff, patients, families, and visitors of all age groups while being sensitive to their cultural and religious beliefs must be exhibited by the Community Outreach Worker. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is dependent on the availability of grant funds.
