About The Position

Ocracoke Health Center, Inc. is seeking a Full-Time Community Outreach and Marketing Coordinator to enhance community connections, promote services, support public health, and inform individuals about available healthcare resources. This role is ideal for someone passionate about engaging with people, communication, creativity, community events, and simplifying health information. The position involves organizing events, creating promotional materials, updating digital platforms, collaborating with partners, and contributing to various organizational initiatives. This role may involve a hybrid work arrangement, but regular onsite presence is necessary for outreach, event planning, content creation, and other organizational activities. The employee's primary worksite could be any of the Ocracoke Health Center clinics located in Manteo, Engelhard, or Ocracoke. Travel between these service areas is expected for outreach events and community activities, with occasional travel to other locations within North Carolina also possible.

Requirements

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, health promotion, business administration, or a related field
  • At least two years of experience in marketing, communications, outreach, healthcare, public relations, or community engagement
  • Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
  • Friendly, approachable, and comfortable talking with people from different backgrounds
  • Creative, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at once
  • A strong communicator, both in writing and in person
  • Comfortable using social media, email, websites, and basic design tools
  • Able to represent the organization professionally in the community
  • Interested in healthcare, public health, community engagement, or nonprofit work
  • Dependable, flexible, and willing to help where needed
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Willing and able to travel between clinic locations and community events as needed

Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and participating in community outreach events, health fairs, educational activities, and public engagement efforts that may occur during evenings and/or weekends
  • Sharing information about clinic services, programs, public health resources, and available community services
  • Creating marketing and communication materials such as flyers, newsletters, social media posts, website updates, press releases, and promotional campaigns
  • Helping manage and improve our social media presence and website content
  • Building relationships with community organizations, local agencies, schools, businesses, media outlets, and other partners
  • Supporting patient education, public health campaigns, and organizational events
  • Gathering community feedback and helping identify local health and service needs
  • Tracking outreach activities, engagement efforts, marketing results, and related reporting data
  • Supporting grant-related outreach and reporting needs as assigned
  • Helping departments promote services, events, and educational initiatives
  • Jumping in on other projects as needed
