About The Position

Empower Project is the national leader in paid and volunteer relational organizing, aiming to improve people's lives by leveraging personal networks for voter turnout, especially within BIPOC communities. Their technology, Empower, is used by over 1,500 organizations and has been proven effective in increasing voter turnout through multiple studies. The organization is experiencing rapid growth and is expanding its team to support this growth and enhance its features. In 2026, Empower Project will be running paid relational organizing programs in states like Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. These programs involve recruiting individuals to engage their friends and family about elections and issues, and compensating them for their time and effort. The role of a Community Organizer is central to these programs, focusing on recruiting, training, and managing paid Community Mobilizers (CMs) to spread awareness about the upcoming election through relational calls and social media engagement.

Requirements

  • Strong time management skills to balance onboarding, training, and managing a large group of participants.
  • Ability to conduct large-scale trainings.
  • Ability to hold CMs accountable for accurate and timely reporting.
  • Ability to create a positive and safe work environment.
  • Flexibility as the campaign changes.
  • Creativity in achieving the biggest possible scale of outreach.

Nice To Haves

  • Existing relationships in Iowa, Michigan, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin.
  • Fluency in a second language, including Spanish.

Responsibilities

  • Onboard, train, and manage a large group of paid Community Mobilizers (CMs) for statewide paid relational organizing programs.
  • Help paid Community Mobilizers conduct relational calls to action and numerous social media calls to action.
  • Maximize program referrals from the friends and family of original participants to increase the number of applicants.
  • Complete phone, text, and other recruitment methods to ensure daily trainings meet benchmark attendance.
  • Conduct onboarding trainings for large audiences covering app functionality, program objectives, and performance requirements for payment and bonuses.
  • Host regular onboarding sessions at intervals that support program objectives.
  • Support Community Mobilizers through group and one-on-one trainings.
  • Deliver a mix of automated, hand-generated, and person-to-person communications to increase program completion.
  • Meet daily phone bank benchmarks to follow up with CMs, ensuring task completion by payment deadlines and scheduling future events.
  • Ensure timely entry of all participant data, meeting campaign-wide standards.
  • Use incentives and other tools to achieve maximum data entry and program completion within campaign-directed limits.
  • Triage program participants for direct communication regarding accountability.
  • Verify that names submitted for compensation meet program requirements for base pay and bonuses.
  • Ensure all program requirements are well-communicated by reviewing published materials and reporting errors to management.
  • Collect feedback on training materials from participants and deliver it to management for improvement.
  • Implement campaign-wide feedback mechanisms for participants to communicate their experience to leadership.
  • Collect samples, anecdotes, video, photos, and survey data to showcase program success for recruitment and reporting.
