About The Position

CBI Health is Canada's leading community healthcare provider with a national network of over 2,500 healthcare staff and professionals. They focus on innovating services for better client recovery and support. The Community Rehabilitation Services team in Ontario treats clients with mental stress injuries and motor vehicle accidents, aiming to restore pre-accident function. The Traumatic Psychological Injury program involves Occupational Therapists working with clients like first responders, utilizing techniques such as in-vivo exposure therapy, behavioral activation, and trauma processing. This program uses innovative approaches like virtual reality for mental health outcomes. The Complex Auto program involves Occupational Therapists assessing and treating clients with physical, cognitive, and psychosocial impairments resulting from motor vehicle accidents. This includes in-home and hospital discharge assessments, ergonomic assessments, concussion treatment, cognitive rehabilitation, and mental health treatment, offering 'start to finish care'. OTs can choose to focus on one area or manage a mixed caseload.

Requirements

  • Registration in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario
  • A valid driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (travel up to 1-1.5 hours radius)
  • Willingness to provide in-vivo OT treatment in a variety of settings, including client’s homes, workplaces, and/or in the community
  • Passion about your profession, commitment to ongoing professional development, and dedication to providing excelled client care
  • The ability to thrive in a self-directed and independent environment
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Strong critical thinking, decision-making, and analytic skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Empathy and an effective ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders

  • Experience in the private sector, particularly auto sector legislation and mental health, is an asset

Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-vivo exposure therapy and behavioral activation.
  • Facilitate trauma processing, coping, and return to function.
  • Complete in-home and hospital discharge assessments.
  • Perform ergonomic assessments.
  • Provide concussion treatment.
  • Engage in cognitive rehabilitation.
  • Offer mental health treatment.
  • Provide 'start to finish care' for clients.
