About The Position

Bayshore HealthCare, a leading Canadian provider of home and community health care services, is seeking an Occupational Therapist for its Kitchener Branch. This is a permanent position, offered as either a casual employee or an independent contractor. The role involves community work with a blend of in-person and virtual client visits, offering a flexible schedule where you can "make your own" workdays, including weekdays, weekends, or a combination. Bayshore emphasizes creating special moments for clients and providing flexibility, learning, and growth opportunities for its staff, allowing them to utilize a wide range of Occupational Therapy skills in a community setting.

Requirements

  • Masters Degree or recognized equivalent in Occupational Therapy.
  • Registered and in good standing with provincial College of Occupational Therapists.
  • Drivers license and reliable vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • One year providing Occupational Therapy services and experience with in-home assessments and treatments is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assessment of clients, establishment and ongoing evaluation and revision of treatment programs, including goals and discharge plans.
  • Maintenance of current accurate clinical records according to standards set by the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario, documenting assessment results, goals, treatment, client progress, and discharge plans.
  • Collaboration with other members of the health team as needed.
  • Communication of pertinent information and recommendations to clients/care providers and provision of education regarding treatment strategies as needed.
  • Observation of the performance of those assisting in the Occupational Therapy program and provision of guidance as necessary.
  • Maintenance of active standing in the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario.
  • Participation in ongoing internal and/or external education activities.
  • Adherence to Bayshore Therapy & Rehab Policies and Procedures.
  • Participation in quality activities and continuous improvement initiatives in keeping with the company's Quality Management System.
  • Participation in proactive Health & Safety activities while performing all duties, including notifying the immediate Supervisor of any Health & Safety risks or concerns.
  • Maintenance of confidentiality of client and corporate information and discussing same only with appropriate Bayshore personnel.
