The Humane Society for Southwest Washington is seeking a Community Medicine Veterinary Assistant to join their team. This is a full-time, FLSA nonexempt opportunity. HSSW has been a leader in animal welfare since 1897, serving over 10,000 animals annually across two shelter campuses and providing high-quality care, medical services, and compassion. Their community-based approach, including the Nierenberg Community Veterinary Clinic and the Sandra Richardson Miller Mobile Veterinary Clinic, aims to keep pets and people together by expanding access to affordable veterinary care, spay/neuter services, training, and support. HSSW also operates ReTails Thrift Store, which provides vital funding for their mission. The organization fosters an innovative, high-energy culture where employees can make a real difference in animal welfare. HSSW has been recognized as Best Non-Profit for two consecutive years. The Community Medicine Veterinary Assistant will provide advanced technical and operational support within the HSSW Community Veterinary Clinic. This role is crucial in supporting veterinarians and licensed veterinary technicians in a high-volume setting focused on spay/neuter surgery, preventative care, and increasing veterinary service access for underserved communities.
