About The Position
This role is for a hands-on career in property management at Prairie Commons Apartments, managed by Gaines Investment Trust. The Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in ensuring apartment communities operate safely, efficiently, and to a high standard. Responsibilities include responding to resident service requests, troubleshooting and completing repairs, preparing apartments for new residents, and maintaining the overall condition of the community. The company is interested in candidates with mechanical aptitude, problem-solving skills, a strong work ethic, and a commitment to quality work, even if they are new to property management. Experience in related skilled trades is beneficial. - Previous experience in apartment maintenance, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, appliance repair, construction, facilities maintenance, or a related skilled trade
Responsibilities
- Completing resident service requests promptly and professionally
- Troubleshooting and repairing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, appliances, and other apartment systems
- Performing general repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the community
- Preparing vacant apartments for new residents, including completing repairs and ensuring homes are move-in ready
- Inspecting apartments, common areas, and building systems for maintenance needs
- Assisting with the upkeep of community amenities, grounds, and common areas
- Identifying and reporting maintenance or safety concerns
- Maintaining tools, equipment, supplies, and work areas
- Providing professional and courteous service when interacting with residents
- Working closely with the onsite team to keep the community operating at a high standard
