About The Position

Ebenezer Square, a DePaul Community Residence-Single Room Occupancy (CR-SRO) Program, is hiring a Community Living Staff 2 to work the evening shift. The Community Living Staff 2 is an effective member of the team and assists residents in carrying out service plan goals and objectives using a person-centered approach. The pay rate is $21.25–$21.55 per hour.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Verbal and written skills necessary to carry out services for the success of the program.
Valid New York State driver’s license that meets the agency’s clean driver record policy.
At least 18 years of age.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience in a residential setting working with people in various stages of recovery from mental illness.

Responsibilities

Provide teaching, monitoring, and recovery-oriented supports in accordance with OMH 595, including rehabilitative services such as assertiveness and self-advocacy training, community integration and resource development, daily living skills, health services, medication management and training, parenting training, rehabilitative counseling, skill development, socialization, substance abuse services, and symptom management.
Assist the Medication Coordinator with supervising resident medications in accordance with physician’s orders, agency policy, and New York State Office of Mental Health regulations.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in resident medication records.
Communicate relevant information about residents’ mental and physical status to the Residential Services Coordinator, the on-site Supervisor, or providers when needed.
Complete basic documentation in resident files regarding psychiatric or medical concerns, progress, and other significant matters.
Complete daily tasks and assignments as directed, including preparing rooms before admissions, orienting new residents, and assisting with discharges and transfers.
When filling in on the overnight shift, complete rounds at least four times per shift, monitor the program, intervene as needed to address potential resident problems or disputes, and update the daily census check if needed.
When filling in on the overnight shift, work with Overnight Security to support resident safety and well-being, including observing the building and grounds, enforcing visitor hours, ensuring doors are locked at 9:00 p.m., restricting unwanted visitors, and monitoring security cameras.
Share information with supervisors or administrative staff about problems or concerns that occur during the shift.
Work with residents to help maintain the upkeep of their personal rooms.
Coordinate and participate in residents’ recreational activities.
Respect and maintain resident confidentiality and demonstrate a caring, positive attitude toward residents, staff, family members, guests, and service providers.
Attend staff meetings and trainings as required by the agency.
Work as a member of the residential team, provide relevant input for treatment team meetings and Continued Stay Reviews, and safely transport residents when needed.
Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the program.
