About The Position

The person in this position is responsible for supporting the various aspects of the caisse’s community and cooperative life and the democratic participation of members and clients. They help caisse management ensure the caisse’s development and promotion within the community. More specifically, you will be required to: Help set caisse community support guidelines and implement the resulting action plan. Help plan, execute and monitor activities related to community, cooperative and democratic life, in collaboration with the caisse’s general manager and directors. Identify the community’s needs, challenges and opportunities by consulting members, clients and organizations. Manage contribution requests (Community Development Fund, donations and sponsorships) by analyzing files, making recommendations and ensuring follow-up, while respecting the directions in the community involvement and partnership plan and the caisse’s business plan. Contribute to intercooperation initiatives. Support the general manager and directors in their efforts to maintain an active presence and promote the caisse and Desjardins in their community, and to develop and maintain business relationships with various clienteles and community organizations. Promote and support the implementation of various community involvement programs and tools related to the caisse’s community and cooperative life. Oversee education and promotion regarding our cooperative identity to directors, managers, employees, members and clients. Follow up on certain aspects of educational initiatives for members and educational programs aimed at the youth client segment by establishing and maintaining relationships with the school community. Help organize caisse events (for example, annual general meeting, special general meeting and conferences), mainly for the “community life,” “cooperative life” and “democratic life” components.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • A minimum of one year of relevant experience
  • Knowledge of French is required
  • Knowledge of community involvement tools available to the caisses
  • Knowledge of financial literacy programs aimed at helping members and clients become financially empowered
  • Familiarity with the external environment and the caisse’s socioeconomic issues, including local organizations and partners
