About The Position

The Community Liaison supports timely coordination and communication between the Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County and external system partners, including the Arizona Department of Child Safety (DCS) and community service providers. This position serves as a dedicated point of contact to strengthen collaboration, improve information sharing, and assist in resolving system barriers that impact court-involved children and families. The Community Liaison helps monitor case status, verify information necessary for court readiness, and promote accurate and consistent communication across systems. The role enhances transparency, reduces delays, and supports informed decision-making for the Judicial Bench and court programs. The position also assists in expanding service coordination efforts by facilitating trainings, supporting specialty court initiatives, and fostering strong working relationships between the Court, DCS, and community partners. This position functions in a coordination and liaison capacity and does not assume case management authority or decision-making responsibilities assigned to external agencies. The role supports communication, collaboration, and information sharing to assist the Court in carrying out its judicial functions. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, Public Administration, Criminal Justice, or a closely related field.
  • Valid Arizona Driver License and reliable personal transportation.

Nice To Haves

  • Two (2) years of professional experience working with dependency or delinquency court matters, child welfare systems, or family case management services.

Responsibilities

  • Act as a liaison between the Judicial Branch of Arizona in Maricopa County, DCS, community providers, and partner entities to strengthen interagency communication and coordination.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact with DCS and other entities to obtain timely case information when communication barriers arise and assist in resolving cross-system issues affecting case status.
  • Identify communication challenges, service gaps, or system barriers and coordinate collaborative resolution efforts with DCS and community partners.
  • Support specialty court, treatment court, and other court calendars and court proceedings through coordination of information, scheduling, and communication with internal and external partners.
  • Coordinate, facilitate, and support joint trainings, cross-system meetings, professional development opportunities, and collaborative discussions.
  • Assist with public-facing events, outreach activities, and educational initiatives in collaboration with the Judicial Branch Community Outreach Director.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary case staffing processes to support service coordination.
  • Facilitate and/or attend targeted problem-solving staffings and case coordination meetings to address complex or high-need cases.
  • Use professional knowledge and experience to assist in resolving issues requiring advanced cross-system coordination.
  • Develop and maintain working knowledge of community-based services, treatment resources, and supports available to court-involved children and families, and facilitate access to relevant information, resources, and referrals.
  • Serve as an informational resource to judicial officers, attorneys, Court staff, DCS personnel, and community providers regarding court processes, service systems, and resource coordination.
  • Collaborate closely with contracted treatment providers, Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS) plan liaisons, DCS staff, and other partner agencies.
  • Prepare, maintain, and distribute reports, case updates, correspondence, and related documentation for court review and operational needs.
  • Complete and maintain electronic case documentation, tracking systems, and data reporting requirements.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and management of special projects, pilot initiatives, and programmatic activities supporting court priorities.
  • Promote collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement efforts that enhance Court operations and outcomes for children and families.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
