Funded by Women and Gender Equality Canada (WAGE), ‘Paving the Way for Immigrant and Racialized Women’ project shall aim to advance women’s economic security and prosperity. Achēv will address gaps identified in Phase 1 by 1) engaging in dedicated partnerships with employers to advance workplace DEIA inclusion in policies, governance, and decision-making structures; and 2) designing, testing and launching advanced DEIA training materials through a digital platform to increase access and reach to Ontario employers, enabling asynchronous access while tracking engagement. Through this they will further advance Gender Equality. The Community Liaison Officer will be responsible for the successful planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of all project activities. The Community Liaison Officer is responsible for facilitating consultations, establishing and maintaining strong relationships conduct community outreach activities to ensure that all objectives, milestones and expected outcomes are achieved in accordance with Achēv and project funder standards. Stakeholder Collaboration and partnership development with internal and external stakeholders is a key component of this role.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, community development, or a related field.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in community engagement, outreach, or liaison roles.
Experience working with immigrant and racialized communities is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse community members.
Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with community organizations and stakeholders.
Knowledge of DEIA practices and principles.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and maintain exceptional attention to detail.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint; experienced with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and basic event coordination.
Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with clients, team members, employers, and community partners.
Demonstrated ability to achieve high-performance goals and meet deadlines in a fast- paced environment.
Ability to travel for internal and external stakeholder meetings and conferences
Flexibility to work additional hours including evenings and weekends as needed.
Provision of a Criminal Reference Check if required for specific funder/program demands.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain strong relationships with organizations recruiting the immigrant and racialized women across Ontario.
Engage with organizations and employers in Ontario to promote and implement DEIA practices and principles
Provide general administrative support to the project team, including scheduling meetings, preparing agendas, and taking minutes.
Facilitate ongoing consultations with organizations in Ontario to gather their input and feedback.
Coordinate and conduct community outreach activities to promote the project and its objectives.
Organize and deliver tailored information sessions and briefings for employers.
Act as a liaison between the community, project team, and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Assist in organizing and conducting targeted employer interventions, utilizing the DEIA Toolkit and assessment framework.
Participate in the ongoing review and evaluation of the project to ensure continuous improvement and effectiveness.
Maintain accurate records of community engagement activities and consultations.
Prepare and submit regular reports on community feedback and project progress.
Contribute to the project outcomes: establish dedicated partnerships to implement DEIA principles and launching of Advanced DEIA training materials through a digital platform.
