About The Position

Community Liaison - Military Affairs Opportunity VETERANS ENCOURAGED TO APPLY Cumberland Hall Hospital is a 97 bed, licensed, acute psychiatric hospital located in beautiful Hopkinsville, KY. Cumberland Hall features individual units for youth, adults and active duty military, and offers inpatient acute care, partial hospitalization, and intensive outpatient programs. On average over 1500 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Cumberland Hall Hospital. The Community Liaison (Military Affairs) implements the hospital’s business development plan to exceed admission targets within an assigned geographic territory, primarily serving Southwestern Kentucky and Middle Tennessee. This dual-role position is responsible for developing and managing long-term referral relationships across both military (active duty, VA, and TRICARE) and civilian community sources, with time and focus distributed between both areas. The role requires regular travel within the territory to meet with key referral contacts, including military installations, VA facilities, hospitals, crisis centers, and a broad network of behavioral health and medical professionals, as well as other community partners.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree required in marketing, public relations, business development, communications, or a related field
  • Minimum of one (1) year of experience in marketing, business development, or a related field required
  • Knowledge of military structure
  • Knowledge of healthcare environments
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to interpret data
  • Valid Driver’s License required

Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive outreach strategy supporting both Military Affairs (active duty, VA, TRICARE) and civilian community referral sources, with quarterly evaluations to ensure alignment with facility growth objectives.
  • Build, qualify, and manage a diverse portfolio of referral accounts across military and civilian sectors, including new lead generation, relationship development, and consistent engagement in alignment with established contact goals.
  • Establish and maintain strong partnerships with military, VA, TRICARE, and community stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and coordination of care across the full continuum from admission through discharge, including appropriate progress updates.
  • Utilize market intelligence, industry trends, and census data to identify opportunities and drive business development across both military and civilian referral networks, including support of contracts, service agreements, and account growth.
  • Represent the organization in both military-focused and community-based outreach activities, collaborating with internal teams to strengthen referral relationships, enhance customer satisfaction, and support initiatives across both service lines.
