About The Position

Goodwill Columbus is hiring a Community Integration Specialist to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in becoming more active, confident, and connected within their communities. The role focuses on respect, dignity, skill-building, and helping people live more independent and fulfilling lives. Training and mentorship are provided, including paid training for candidates who are new to disability services. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week position in the Columbus Metro Area, paying $17.50 per hour. The schedule may occasionally include evenings and weekends.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
Ability to pass background checks required for disability services roles.
Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications.
Compassion, dependability, and patience.
Clear communication skills and the ability to stay calm during stressful or unexpected moments.

Nice To Haves

Experience in disability services is helpful but not required.

Responsibilities

Support individuals in the community as they attend classes, participate in events, volunteer, and enjoy hobbies.
Help individuals build independent living skills, including planning, communication, and basic money management.
Encourage friendships, social engagement, and stronger community connections.
Provide safe, reliable transportation to community outings and activities.
Document progress through each individual's Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
Work with families and disability service stakeholders to support each person's goals.
