About The Position

The Islamic Center of Detroit (ICD) is a non-profit organization that serves the community in the greater Detroit area. We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate Community Integration Specialist to join our team for a temporary four-month project supporting refugees and newcomers.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in social work, community development, or a related field
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in community outreach and engagement
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse groups
• Proven ability to plan and organize events and activities
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software
• Fluency in Arabic

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement strategies to promote community integration and engagement for Refugees and new comers
• Build relationships with local organizations, businesses, and community leaders to foster collaboration and partnerships
• Plan and organize events and activities that promote cultural exchange and understanding
• Conduct outreach to diverse groups within the Muslim community, including youth, women, and new immigrants
• Provide support and resources to individuals and families in need, connecting them with relevant services and programs
• Collaborate with other ICD team members to ensure effective communication and coordination of efforts
• Monitor and evaluate the success of community integration initiatives and make recommendations for improvement
• Maintain accurate records and reports of community engagement activities
