In this role, you'll be responsible for establishing and maintaining effective relationships supporting our Socio-Economic Impact program with municipal, Indigenous and community organizations that are important to our success. You'll also lead the development and execution of our external relations strategy to support the timely delivery of our major capital projects.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration, communications or another related discipline from a recognized program.
  • Five (5) years of demonstrated success in Indigenous, community and public relations.
  • Strong experience executing effective stakeholder engagement strategies.
  • Outstanding leadership skills that drive high-performing teams.
  • An ability to build and enhance relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills and the ability to facilitate and complete complex agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Support inclusive participation of Indigenous, local, and underrepresented groups on our projects through local business development, workforce development, and community investment through our strategic objectives.
  • Negotiate existing and new municipal and Indigenous operating agreements and other economic or mutually beneficial agreements, and lead the development and execution of supporting processes and procedures for tracking and compliance.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders and rights holders to develop cohesive strategies for customer consultation and regulatory requirements, including focus groups and coordination with local and Indigenous governments, regulatory bodies, customers, and the general public.
  • Learn the various economic and developmental goals of different Indigenous groups that are stakeholders and rights holders in our projects within their respective regions.
  • Work collaboratively with internal and external parties to ensure Indigenous participation in procurement plans for our projects.
  • Develop market research plans and best practices in consultation with Indigenous communities and municipalities to further develop and enhance our Statement of Indigenous principles while maintaining an awareness of all activities that affect business development potential.
