Resources for Human Development (RHD) provides specialized community inclusion, residential, and day support services for individuals with developmental, mental, and physical disabilities. Through person-centered programming, community engagement, life skills development, and creative opportunities, we help individuals build independence, meaningful relationships, and stronger connections within their communities. Our team members play a vital role in empowering individuals to achieve their goals while promoting dignity, respect, inclusion, and personal choice.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience supporting adults with developmental disabilities
  • Valid driver's license and reliable personal vehicle
  • Basic computer proficiency
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability and willingness to safely transport individuals to appointments, activities, and community-based destinations using a personal vehicle.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or a related field
  • Experience facilitating community-based programming and activities
  • Knowledge of person-centered planning and community inclusion practices

Responsibilities

  • Support adults with developmental disabilities through community-based activities, outings, and individualized programming
  • Implement Individual Support Plans (ISPs) and person-centered goals
  • Facilitate meaningful recreational, educational, vocational, and social activities
  • Promote independence, self-advocacy, and active participation in the community
  • Provide transportation to community activities, events, and appointments
  • Complete required documentation, progress notes, and activity records
  • Manage outing budgets and activity-related expenses as needed
  • Ensure participant health, safety, and well-being, including providing basic first aid when necessary
