About The Position

This is a full-time position (part-time also available) where the Case Manager provides family-centered casework services to families and children involved with DCS/Probation, including pre-adoption and post-adoption services. The goal is to safely maintain children in their homes, prevent placement or reentry into foster care, preserve, support, and stabilize families, and promote the well-being of children, youth, and families. Whitington allows for Monday-Sunday availability to provide direct care services, with flexible hours that accommodate family demands, including evenings and weekends.

Requirements

  • Ability to meet a family in a non-biased strengths-based format either in the home, community, or office setting.
  • Ability to develop a goal-oriented plan of treatment.
  • Develop a consistent schedule of interaction.
  • A belief in the family preservation philosophy.
  • Valid driver's license and proof of insurance.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well as a team or independently.
  • Skillful use of evidence-based strategies.
  • A strong desire to recognize and strive for a strengths-based perspective of change.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all appropriate information.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to provide factual feedback to the Department of Child Services/Probation or the courts in person, telehealth and in writing.
  • Mandatory weekly staffing on Monday mornings at 9:00 a.m.

Responsibilities

  • Provide family-centered casework services to families and children involved with DCS/Probation.
  • Offer pre-adoption and post-adoption services.
  • Safely maintain children in their homes or foster homes.
  • Prevent children's initial placement or reentry into foster care.
  • Preserve, support, and stabilize families.
  • Promote the well-being of children, youth, and families.
  • Provide tutoring.
  • Address truancy.
  • Offer Home Based/Community Based case management services.
  • Provide parenting education.
  • Conduct supervised parenting time.
  • Perform case planning, initial assessment, and ongoing treatment planning.
  • Provide transportation using personal or company vehicles.
  • Participate in team meetings.
  • Facilitate family reunification/preservation efforts.
  • Assist families in the reunification process and/or referral process.
  • Provide education, role-modeling, consistent family planning for meals, time management, symptom management, and advocacy.
