The Division of Public and Behavioral Health is recruiting for a Community Health Nurse (CHN) 2, located in Pahrump, NV. CHNs provide professional nursing care to clients in the community setting. Incumbents provide reproductive health services for men and women, identify and treat communicable disease, conduct health screenings, and analyze and interpret test results. Community Health Nurses conduct infant and child health screenings and counseling, perform physical and developmental screenings and administer immunizations. Incumbents consult and collaborate with organizations and agencies in the community to encourage health, wellness and disease prevention through a variety of settings. The successful candidate will also participate in community emergency preparedness, attend Board of health and Local Emergency Preparedness Meetings as a community partner. Community Health Nurses provide professional nursing services requiring licensure as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) and/or Registered Nurse in clinics, homes, schools and other community settings. Services include community-focused individual and group education for health promotion and risk identification and reduction, diagnosis and treatment of sexually transmitted diseases and other gynecological conditions according to established protocols and delivery of individualized preventive health care.
