About The Position

The Community Health Improvement Coordinator plans, facilitates, organizes, directs, and evaluates community health activities for the service area of Access East and ECU Health. Community health activities are directly related to the organization's and hospital's community health implementation plan, which addresses priority health needs identified in area service and resource reviews, including but not limited to the community health needs assessment. The coordinator works with the hospitals, healthcare providers, health department, schools, churches, businesses, civic organizations, and other community-based organizations to engage in planning and activities designed to encourage service and social support designs that improve the healthcare safetynet, healthy lifestyle and improved health in the community. Activities include but are not limited to facilitation of service design/redesign planning, development and implementation, free screenings, education sessions, and health fairs. Healthy Opportunities is a purchase of service contract and NC Rural Health Transformation program is a grant through NC DHHS; thus, this position will cease when funding ends.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in allied health, health education, public health, health promotion or related field.
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field.
  • Strong result-oriented group/program facilitation skills.
  • Strong community relations and outreach skills.
  • Good organizational and writing skills.
  • Outgoing personality.
  • Enjoy interacting with people.
  • Professional demeanor.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree preferred.
