The Community Health Coordinator (CHC) will provide peer support (status checks, encouragement/motivation, virtual and in-person visits, outreach, and skill building activities) to current and recently discharged patients with a violent assault injury in the UAMS ED and Trauma Center as part of a local hospital-based violence intervention research program, Project Heal. The CHC will assist various elements of the community violence prevention research program, including recruitment, data collection, management, and analytics (particularly both quantitative and qualitative methods), research design, grant writing, and dissemination (manuscripts, community newsletters, presentations). Primary duties will include ensuring brief bedside and peer support intervention components along with data tracking and other necessary research responsibilities. The CHC role requires effective communication with research participants, research and clinical staff, community partners, and national network members.
