About The Position
At In Flight, Inc., we empower individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities to reach for their hopes and dreams and support a meaningful quality of life. We’re looking for compassionate and motivated individuals to join our Community Habilitation program. As a Community Habilitation Direct Support Professional (DSP), you will work one-on-one with children and/or adults with developmental disabilities, providing support at home and in the community to help them build independence and life skills. This is a flexible, fun, and rewarding role where you can make a direct impact. This is a per diem position.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Pass all NYS and OPWDD background clearances
- Attending a week and a half orientation in Red Hook
- USE OF YOUR OWN VEHICLE
Nice To Haves
- Working with Individuals that have IDD preferred but not required
Responsibilities
- Teaching new tasks
- Assisting in the creation and achievement of life goals
- Planning activities within the community
- Working independently while collaborating with other team members
