Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient-centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations. Position OverviewThe Shared Health Mental Health and Addictions program provides a range of mental health and addiction services across the healthcare continuum that support and promote recovery. Through collaboration and partnership across various health, social service and community sectors the program strives to promote mental health and well-being for all, to reduce inequities and the impact of mental health and addiction problems and to work towards sustainability of mentally healthy individuals and communities. Specialists are to provide a range of services to individuals experiencing mental health disorders and who as a result of criminal actions on their part are to be or have been found by the courts to be Unfit to Stand Trial or Not Criminally Responsible (per section XX.1 of the Criminal Code). Services are oriented towards the restoration, maintenance or enhancement of the client’s health functioning. Services are oriented to clients who require planning for community placements or who are living in the community. The specialists will be a resource to any rural community worker who has Unfit/NCR clients on their caseload, specifically providing information on case management, education, and continuous quality improvement activities and best practices.
