About The Position

The Community Food Market Assistant Manager leads the operational systems that ensure a well-stocked, organized, and efficiently flowing market environment. This role is responsible for inventory management, procurement, logistics, and back-of-house coordination, ensuring food moves safely and effectively in a busy, fast-paced environment. Works in tandem with/in support of the Food Market Manager to ensure operational readiness.

  • Experience in logistics, inventory, warehouse, or retail/food systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory, including tracking, rotation, and restocking
  • Place orders based on demand, budget, and available supply
  • Oversee deliveries, organize stock, and maintain backstock areas
  • Keep the market organized and running efficiently throughout the day
  • Provide clear direction and maintain workflow during busy periods
  • Follow food safety, storage, and documentation standards
