About The Position

The Community & Field Marketing Specialist will represent Magpul at the match, in the forum thread, on the demo line, in front of the camera or with a reporter. The role is part community manager, part field ambassador, part utility player for the marketing and sales teams. The Community & Field Marketing Specialist will represent Magpul at events, own the brand voice in the community, run product demos, setup at events and otherwise support the sales and marketing teams as needed, where needed.

Requirements

  • A degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or relative experience in the marketing space.
  • One to three years of relevant work or intern experience in a marketing role.
  • Experience as a brand ambassador, community manager, or field marketing.
  • Experience making business cases to support recommendations for events and sponsorships.
  • In-depth knowledge of firearms and firearms accessories with cultural fluency.
  • Ability to competently compete in shooting events.
  • Ability to work events on evenings and weekends.
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to hold an audience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools such as Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, etc.
  • Ability to write draft copy and continue to build on writing skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with competitive shooting, hunting, and/or training preferred.
  • Formal experience in marketing and sales support is preferred but not required.
  • Basic experience with order entry or CRM systems a plus. Ability to learn new systems is required.

Responsibilities

  • Represent Magpul at events. Serve as the on-ground face of the brand at shooting events and matches. Compete and shoot in those matches while also handling booth and tent setup.
  • Own the brand voice in the community. Act as Magpul’s voice in social comments, on forums, and wherever the community gathers. Authentically engage and defuse within the community.
  • Run product demos. Support the sales team with hands-on product demonstrations for buyers, partners, and customers.
  • Be a subject matter expert for the brand. Serve as a subject-matter expert on the product line and the broader category. Answer detailed questions about products in various settings.
  • Evaluate events and sponsorships. Assess which events, matches, and sponsorship opportunities are appropriate for Magpul. Weigh audience fit, cost, exposure, and return to make sound business recommendations to marketing leadership.
  • Serve as one of the brand’s on-camera/mic presenters during expos and trade shows. Talk product and brand on show floors, in booth segments, and in captured content.
  • Back up other marketing teams members to include, but not limited to, copywriting support, order entry, serving as a photo/video model when the shot calls for it.
  • Assist the creative team across a range of field and content needs.
  • Ability to work in various environments to include outdoor events in various types of weather.
  • Travel up to 35%.
