About The Position

The Community Engagement Program Manager is responsible for designing, managing, and scaling Westerra Credit Union’s community engagement and social impact programs. This role translates the Community Engagement pillar of the External Affairs strategy into high‑impact initiatives that strengthen community trust, elevate the Westerra brand, and support long‑term membership growth through reciprocal partnerships.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of relevant experience in community engagement, social impact, program management, external affairs, nonprofit partnerships, education, or a related field.
  • Experience managing multi‑program portfolios, external partnerships, and curriculum development preferred.
  • Experience with program performance measurement and reporting systems, CRM systems, and social impact monitoring and evaluation.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and SharePoint, with strong written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, with the ability to represent the organization professionally to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and apply new knowledge effectively on the job.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational, prioritization, and time‑management skills.
  • Maintains a high level of professionalism and confidentiality.
  • Accountable for managing projects and processes independently with limited supervision.

  • Must have reliable transportation and ability to travel, with availability to work some nights and weekends.
  • A valid Colorado driver’s license and the ability to travel between branch locations in the Denver Metro area and beyond using a dependable personal vehicle and/or Westerra Credit Union fleet vehicles, depending on the role.
  • The ability to comply with Westerra Credit Union’s Motor Vehicle Driver Acknowledgement, operating procedures, and annual driver authorization requirements, including following all applicable driving and safety regulations when driving or traveling on behalf of WCU.
  • The ability to meet driver eligibility standards, including an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record with no Type A violations in the past five years and no more than one Type B violation in the past three years.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary program manager for all community engagement initiatives, including educator programs, grants, scholarships, classroom programs, financial literacy curriculum, adult and youth financial wellness initiatives, volunteer programs, social activations, and donation platforms.
  • Design, implement, and oversee community engagement programs from concept through execution, including program planning, budgeting, partner coordination, communications, and impact evaluation.
  • Develop and maintain strong internal and external partnerships, working closely with community organizations, schools, nonprofits, and internal business units to align programming with Westerra’s strategic and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Director of External Affairs on program strategy, translating high‑level goals into scalable, actionable program frameworks and implementation plans.
  • Establish and maintain program, budget, and partnership tracking systems to measure outcomes, report impact, and inform continuous improvement.
  • Support and guide day‑to‑day execution of community events and activations, including logistical coordination, content development, data collection, and on‑the‑ground presence as needed.
  • Review and coach the work of lower‑level professionals within the team.
  • Other duties as assigned.
