About The Position

Meta Platforms, Inc. designs, builds, and operates data centers and seeks an experienced professional to join its data center community development team. The role partners with site selection, operations, communications, and public policy teams to advance community development initiatives and maintain relationships in Meta’s global data center regions. The Community Engagement Manager develops policy-focused community engagement strategies, builds relationships with community and civil society stakeholders, and creates opportunities for dialogue between Meta and external groups. The role synthesizes community perspectives into insights for internal policy and product teams, supports communications about Meta’s policy positions, monitors stakeholder sentiment and advocacy trends, and identifies opportunities to build long-term community partnerships. It also manages program budgets, engagement metrics, and stakeholder records, and represents Meta at external events, with occasional travel.

Requirements

8 or more years of experience in community engagement, stakeholder relations, government affairs, or public policy advocacy.
Experience developing and executing multi-stakeholder engagement strategies in support of policy or advocacy campaigns.
Experience working cross-functionally with legal, communications, and policy teams to align external engagement with organizational priorities.
Experience synthesizing complex policy issues and communicating them clearly to diverse community audiences through written materials and public presentations.
Experience managing external partnerships, including tracking commitments, maintaining stakeholder records, and measuring program outcomes.

Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize or redesign workflows and drive measurable impact, such as efficiency gains or quality improvements.
Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices, such as risk assessment, bias mitigation, and quality and accuracy reviews.

Responsibilities

Develop and execute a strategic community engagement roadmap that advances Meta’s public policy priorities, including AI, digital safety, privacy, and platform governance.
Build and maintain relationships with community organizations, civil society groups, advocacy coalitions, and community leaders to inform and support Meta’s policy positions.
Collaborate with Federal, State, and International Policy teams to align community engagement strategies with legislative and regulatory priorities.
Design and manage community engagement programs, roundtables, and convenings that foster substantive dialogue between Meta and external stakeholders on policy issues.
Serve as a subject matter expert on community perspectives, synthesizing stakeholder feedback into actionable insights for internal policy and product teams.
Partner with Communications, Legal, and Public Affairs teams to develop messaging and materials that accurately represent Meta’s policy positions to community audiences.
Track and analyze external stakeholder commentary, community sentiment, and advocacy trends to inform strategy and identify emerging risks or opportunities.
Identify long-term community partnership opportunities that strengthen Meta’s credibility and trust with affected communities.
Manage program budgets, track engagement metrics, and maintain accurate records of stakeholder interactions and commitments.
Represent Meta at external events, conferences, and community forums, with occasional travel to engage stakeholders across relevant geographies.
