About The Position

The Community Engagement Manager's primary duty is to achieve girl and adult membership goals across assigned tribal communities. This is accomplished through recruitment of new members and retention of members already affiliated. The position includes volunteer recruitment, adult training support, mentoring, and volunteer recognition. In partnership with volunteer corps, ensure innovative culturally relevant girl program is planned for each level. Support Product Program activities to meet the Council Goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work/volunteer experience.
  • Behavior consistent with the core competencies, core values, and beliefs of the organization.
  • Technical ability, skill, and experience with computer input and software. Individuals experienced with Windows environment preferred.
  • Understands and/or experience with team-focused work performance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills, including correct spelling and grammar usage. Comfortable with public speaking.
  • Must have the necessary skills required to collect, evaluate, and creatively utilize data in planning and problem solving.
  • Ability to network and cultivate community relationships.
  • Experience with, and understanding of, volunteer management systems.
  • Ability to manage a multi-project workload, to exercise initiative and meet deadlines.
  • Strong self-motivation and discipline to regularly set and exceed work goals.
  • Must have the ability to recognize and handle matters of a confidential nature appropriately and in the strictest confidence.
  • Willingness to fully participate in staff development opportunities (when offered) and to take responsibility for self-directed learning.
  • Knowledge of, or willingness to learn, the Girl Scout program.
  • Experience working with tribal communities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively across tribal lands and communities.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with other staff, volunteers and community partners to further the mission, goals and objectives of Girl Scouts-Arizona Cactus-Pine Council. Inc.
  • Meet Key Performance Indicators (KPI), outcomes and goals specific to girl and adult recruitment and retention of membership.
  • Using the practice of Relational Customer Engagement; network, host events and meetings to invite families and community members to learn about Girl Scouts.
  • Attend public, municipal and school festivals to market the Girl Scout experience.
  • Develop partnerships with local organizations to create collaborative programs.
  • Manage and track potential new member leads ensuring timely follow-up utilizing all forms of communication.
  • Provide the administration of a local Community Troop. Partner with experienced Girl Scout volunteers to mentor parents and community volunteers in the role of troop committee and group leadership. Coach groups to branch off as independent troops when they are ready.
  • Provide a high level of customer service with experienced volunteers and new Troop Leaders to support the onboarding process.
  • Recruit, support, and recognize volunteers to build a strong volunteer corps.
  • Partner with Council staff, volunteers, and community partners to plan and deliver culturally relevant and innovative programs that support membership retention and growth.
  • Collaborate with staff on one of the Council Knowledge Communities. Recruitment, Girl Program Volunteer Support.
  • Champion the Council Product Sale Activities by attending training and supporting volunteers in the education and management of Financial Literacy Programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
