About The Position

Zipline is the world’s largest and most experienced drone delivery service, aiming to serve all humans equally by providing access to essential goods. They design, build, and operate an autonomous logistics system, making deliveries globally and impacting healthcare, consumer products, and food access. The company seeks problem solvers motivated by real-world challenges and scaling the future of logistics. The Community Engagement Team at Zipline is a public-facing role responsible for building and maintaining relationships with local stakeholders, including government officials, civic organizations, and neighborhoods, to foster understanding of Zipline's community impact and its role in a logistics system that serves everyone. This role is ideal for someone passionate about community building, communications, and social impact. The intern will help design and implement strategies to engage community members, strengthen partnerships, and support outreach initiatives. The position requires strong communication skills, a passion for community building, and the ability to manage multiple tasks and think creatively. The internship is a full-time, in-person position located in Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, OR Phoenix, Arizona, running from September to December 2026. Zipline is unable to sponsor work visas for this position. The hourly rate is $34, with potential additional benefits like relocation support, housing stipend, overtime pay, and paid sick time.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field.
  • Must have completed the second year of undergraduate studies.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for community building and social impact.
  • Experience with social media platforms and/or digital tools for community engagement (e.g., Slack, Facebook Groups).
  • Detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Creative thinker who brings enthusiasm and initiative.
  • Must be able to travel frequently throughout Dallas, Texas, Austin, Texas, OR Phoenix, Arizona.
  • Requires transportation (not company provided) and the ability to independently travel to operational sites, events, communities, and partner locations as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in planning, promoting, and executing community events, workshops, and virtual meetups.
  • Support the development of content for newsletters, social media, and other communication channels.
  • Respond to community inquiries and engage with members across platforms.
  • Conduct research on community needs, trends, and engagement strategies.
  • Help track engagement metrics and compile reports on community feedback and outcomes.
  • Provide general administrative support to the community engagement team.
