This full-time, bridge-to-career opportunity pairs fellows with host organizations, from local governments to nonprofits and businesses, to drive real-world change. About the Opportunity Start Date: September 1st, 2026 Length of Fellowship: 10 months Location Type: Hybrid Are you passionate about tackling climate challenges and driving sustainability solutions? As a Community Engagement Coordinator in the Climate Corps Fellowship program, you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to impactful sustainability initiatives with Silicon Valley Clean Energy Authority. This is a hybrid position with the expectation of onsite work 3+ days per quarter, as well as regular events throughout Santa Clara County, including some weekend and evening events. In this role, you will support SVCE’s marketing, communications, and engagement team in the Customer Success department. Your primary responsibilities will be to interact with SVCE customers at local events, coordinate education programs, and manage social media accounts. You will also support general agency and communications efforts if needed. SVCE Fellows gain skills and experience in project management, marketing and social media campaigns, graphic design, event planning, public speaking, and more. This position offers a unique opportunity to develop your professional skills, grow your network, and contribute to SVEC's sustainability goals.

Requirements

  • Strong communicator with customer service experience and skills in writing and public speaking.
  • Manages tasks and projects efficiently, with attention to detail, and stays organized on project management tools like Asana, monday.com, Trello, etc.
  • Creative and social media savvy; someone with an eye for design and with knowledge of social media trends and how to capture content.
  • Familiar with graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe Illustrator/Express.
  • Familiar with social media video editing tools like InShot, CapCut, and/or Adobe Premiere.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle.
  • The ability to work onsite on a hybrid basis and attend events throughout the county. Only candidates currently residing within commuting distance of the site address will be considered.

  • Authorization to work in the United States for the duration of the fellowship (SEI is unable to sponsor visas).
  • May require occasional moving about to accomplish tasks, moving from one worksite to another, or adjusting or moving objects under 25-50 pounds in all directions.

Nice To Haves

  • Interest in public service and learning more about local government, environmental policy, electrification, clean energy, and more.
  • Comfortable capturing photos and videos, as well as being filmed and on camera; experience appearing in or producing short-form videos preferred.
  • Knowledge of Santa Clara County and its communities.
  • Bilingual in one of the following languages: Spanish, Vietnamese, or Chinese.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and attend local events to promote SVCE general awareness and customer programs within the service area. Events include community festivals, Earth Month activities, library presentations, community group meetings, and more.
  • Coordinate the programs listed below, manage SVCE relationships with local schools, and serve as the first point of contact for education-related inquiries.
  • Design and promote an annual spring scholarship art competition.
  • Help launch SVCE’s first-ever education sponsorship fund aimed at school staff & teachers.
  • Manage SVCE's social media presence and regularly create content for agency accounts on LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, etc.
