About The Position

This role leads Child & Family’s outward-facing engagement strategy, encompassing fundraising events, community partnerships, communications, and social media. The Community Engagement & Communications Officer is responsible for enhancing the organization's visibility, building community trust, and creating opportunities for donors, sponsors, and partners to increase their involvement. This is a hybrid role with 20% remote work.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or related field required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in communications, marketing, events, or community engagement required.
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule.
  • Must have strong project management and event planning skills.
  • Experience managing social media platforms and digital content required.
  • Strong organizational, critical thinking and time-management skills.
  • Computer and database management skills required; knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
  • Ability to communicate and effectively interact with a diverse population.
  • Collaboration and teamwork.
  • The ideal candidate will be required to meet all background checks and medical clearances required for the position.

  • Familiarity with nonprofit or human services organizations preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute fundraising, stewardship, and community engagement events.
  • Manage corporate sponsorships and community partnerships.
  • Ensure events are aligned with donor cultivation and stewardship goals.
  • Manage organizational messaging, storytelling, and brand consistency.
  • Oversee social media channels and digital engagement strategy.
  • Develop content calendars and coordinate impact storytelling with program staff.
  • Collaborate with the Manager of Philanthropy & Stewardship to convert events and digital audiences into donors.
  • Track engagement metrics and adjust strategies to improve reach and conversion.
