About The Position
Mains’l is seeking a passionate Part-time Community Employment Job Coach to empower individuals to achieve their employment goals and thrive in their communities. As a Job Coaching Specialist, you will provide person-centered, individualized hourly support. You will guide individuals through their professional journeys, offering hands-on support as they learn new tasks and develop crucial workplace relationships. Your ability to communicate effectively, think critically, and adapt to diverse environments will be key as you help others navigate their roles in community internships and employment settings. You will also serve as a bridge between Mains’l and community business partners, fostering inclusive practices and ensuring successful employment experiences. Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, and time management are essential for making sound decisions in the field. We are looking for motivated individuals who understand the importance of maintaining professional boundaries while offering compassionate support, ensuring each person feels respected and empowered to succeed.
Requirements
- At least 18 years of age.
- Ability to pass a background check through the Department of Justice (DOJ).
- Safe and reliable transportation with a valid driver’s license and auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a driving record check.
- TB (Tuberculosis) Skin Test.
- Clear oral and written communication.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- The ability to identify, understand, or learn various learning styles and apply this to knowledge on an individual basis.
- Dependable/ time management skills to make sound decisions while out in the field.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills.
- Basic technology skills.
- Adaptable to various environments.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Ability to document daily entry notes clearly.
Responsibilities
- Providing guidance, support, and training to individuals while they perform their duties in their community internship or place of employment.
- Assist with resume writing, job search strategies, interview preparation, and on-the-job-training.
- Supporting individuals with learning and navigating professional boundaries and relationships.
- Supporting staff team members with job coach training.
- Acting as a liaison between community business partners and Mains’l by providing job coaching and inclusive community training.
