The Gloucester Marine Genomics Institute (GMGI) is an independent nonprofit research institute focused on ocean health, human health, and environmental challenges through research and education. Its educational arm, Gloucester Biotechnology Academy, offers a Biotechnology Certificate Program to prepare diverse young adults for careers as biotechnology laboratory technicians. The Academy is seeking a Community & Employer Partnerships Manager to foster relationships across Greater Boston, connecting talented young adults with biotechnology careers. This role involves collaborating with schools, community organizations, employers, and workforce partners to broaden access to biotech careers and ensure employers have a skilled workforce. This is a highly relationship-centered, field-based position requiring significant time spent meeting with high schools, community organizations, biotech employers, and Academy partners throughout Greater Boston. The role involves developing long-term strategies to strengthen the Academy's employer network and enrollment pipeline. It offers a blend of strategic planning and hands-on outreach, with a focus on building trust, solving problems, and influencing diverse stakeholders. The successful candidate will operate both strategically and hands-on, engaging directly with students, educators, and employers while leading initiatives to improve enrollment and employment outcomes. The role requires significant travel within Greater Boston to visit schools, community organizations, and biotech employers, with occasional travel to the Gloucester campus. A personal vehicle is required.
