About The Position

New Hope is hiring for one Community Education Specialist position, with two potential location options: Southbridge or the Milford/Attleboro area. The final work location will be determined based on organizational needs, candidate qualifications, and staffing considerations. This posting represents one available position, not two separate openings. The scope of work involves providing community-based education and outreach efforts aimed at increasing public and professional awareness of the issues of sexual and domestic violence and human trafficking.

Requirements

1-2 years’ experience working in a non-profit setting.
1-2 years’ experience working in a community-facing role.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.
Adaptability in dealing effectively with various situations and requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively, with sensitivity and discretion.
Ability to break down complex information into simple, understandable communication.
Strong interpersonal, problem-solving, organizational, and prioritizing skills.
Effective time management.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks at one time.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Openness to feedback.
Self-motivated and dependable.
Strong written communication abilities, including grammar and proofreading.
Flexibility with time and scheduling to include nights and weekends.
Valid driver’s license, dependable transportation, and willingness to travel within the state.
Solid technology skills.

Proficiency in Canva, PowerPoint, Zoom, and Microsoft Teams preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop training, outreach and marketing materials, such as presentations, flyers, and informational materials, to meet the needs of the target community.
Develop sexual and domestic violence and prevention activities tailored to community needs, supporting youth and adults of all identities.
Collaborate across departments to support educational initiatives.
Plan and develop curricula to educate students and community members about healthy relationships and sexual and domestic violence.
Develop connections with community resources and allied service providers.
Actively participate in community and statewide coalitions, roundtables, CHNAs, etc.
Collaborate and assist with pre-service training curriculum development and execution as directed by the Community Impact Manager.
Support ongoing evaluation activities to determine efficacy of efforts.
Assist with planning and execution of community awareness events, fundraisers, etc.
Create, write, and publish educational material on sexual and domestic violence and human trafficking on New Hope’s social media accounts and website.
Document events in the organization’s database and prepare reports as requested.
Support grant writing activities.
Support New Hope’s direct service provision by assisting with services such as hotline.
Attend all-agency meetings and other meetings as requested.
Other tasks as assigned by the Community Impact Manager.
