SAVE provides safety, support and resources for people to live free from Intimate Partner Violence and engages communities in the work to end violence. In pursuit of this mission, SAVE provides a comprehensive range of direct services to people experiencing domestic violence from immediate crisis intervention to long-term supportive services. The Community Education Specialist plays a key role in the Community Education Department by 1) scheduling and delivering violence prevention education and training; 2) mentoring the youth leadership group in their initiatives to prevent teen dating violence, including a health summit.; 3) developing curriculum and awareness campaigns; 4) supporting youth and adults with guidance and resources and providing crisis intervention; 5) training caregivers, service providers, and volunteers, equipping them with the tools to recognize unhealthy relationships and support clients effectively. Strong candidates for this position will demonstrate an understanding of specific issues faced by youth and have experience implementing programs and building relationships with community partners. The candidate will have a deep commitment to providing trauma-informed, youth-centered, and harm-reduction services. Previous experience working with youth, community members, educators, service providers, and survivors is strongly desired. Experience delivering engaging presentations and activities is also strongly desired. Candidates who are bilingual and bicultural and who have lived experience with domestic violence are strongly encouraged to apply.
