About The Position

Educational Services is seeking current Woman’s Hospital team members to teach community education classes through a PRN second-job opportunity. Instructors may teach childbirth classes, breastfeeding classes, or both, depending on their experience and certifications. They prepare for and teach assigned classes using approved curricula and materials, leading discussions, demonstrations, and skills practice to help families prepare for childbirth, postpartum recovery, and breastfeeding. Instructors create a welcoming learning environment, answer questions within their area of expertise, coordinate with the Community Education Coordinator on scheduling, supplies, class logistics, and participant concerns, and share participant feedback and recommendations for improving class content. Assignments are coordinated based on class needs and instructor availability. Instructors are expected to prepare for and reliably cover agreed-upon assignments. Class opportunities and typical schedules include Preparing for Delivery (one Sunday per month, 1:00 PM–5:00 PM), Lamaze: A Labor of Love (one Saturday per month, 9:00 AM–4:30 PM), Breastfeeding Basics (one Sunday per month, 1:30 PM–5:00 PM), After Baby Comes (one Sunday per month, 12:30 PM–5:30 PM), and the Complete Childbirth Series (six Tuesday evening classes, 6:00 PM–9:00 PM). The Complete Childbirth Series combines information from other classes and may be taught by multiple instructors, depending on instructor certifications. Pay is $45 per hour, with a minimum payment of two hours per class session. Applicants should apply through the internal job posting and identify the classes they are interested in teaching, their relevant experience and certifications, and their availability.
