About The Position

This is a talent pool creation for future ongoing and temporary roles within Grafton Community Corrections/Grafton Parole Unit, valid for up to 18 months. The role is purpose-driven, aiming to change lives and build safer communities. As a Community Corrections Officer, you will join a dedicated team focused on offender rehabilitation and enhancing community safety. You will collaborate with individuals under supervision to develop and implement rehabilitative strategies, monitor progress, and conduct home visits to ensure compliance. The role offers hands-on experience, nationally recognised training, and clear pathways for progression within a leading justice agency. Aboriginal candidates are strongly encouraged to apply. Requirements

Understanding of the NSW criminal justice system.
Skills in case management.
Understanding of the needs of Aboriginal people and their communities.

Responsibilities

Manage cases for individuals serving community-based orders, including Parole Orders, Intensive Corrections Orders, and Community Corrections Orders.
Work with offenders in custody to prepare them for successful reintegration into the community upon their release on parole.
Collaborate with individuals under supervision to develop and implement rehabilitative strategies.
Monitor progress toward established goals.
Conduct home visits to ensure compliance with conditions.
Support and strengthen relationships between Community Corrections and local service providers, as well as the local Aboriginal community.
Foster positive relationships between Communities and Justice, with emphasis on supporting local Aboriginal and CALD communities.
Interact face-to-face with people under supervision.
