About The Position

The Arizona Department of Corrections, Rehabilitation & Reentry is looking for a responsible Community Corrections Officer (CCO) to provide weekday, evening and weekend-based psycho-educational programs and case management services to the offender/resident population through classes and one-on-one sessions. This position also conducts assessments and develops individual program plans at the Maricopa Reentry Center.

  • Possess and retain a current, valid class-appropriate driver’s license, complete all required training, and successfully pass all necessary driver’s license record checks
  • Maintain acceptable driving records, and must complete all required driver training
  • Maintain the statutorily required liability insurance
  • Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • Minimum one (1) year experience working with justice-involved individuals, probationers, parolees or inmates
  • Minimum one (1) year experience in instruction and/or teaching of programs, classes, or groups

Responsibilities

  • Delivers programming services and classes, in a group or one-on-one during weekdays, weekends and evenings to offenders/residents under supervision of the Community Corrections Division
  • Manages various elements of offender/resident participation, class completions, documentation and data entry
  • Gathers and reports programs, offender/resident needs, participation and success of programs, performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
  • Communicates, interacts and works with internal and external employees, contractors, community agencies, programming delivery entities and offenders/residents
  • Drives on State business, to include out of state travel
  • Performs other duties appropriate to the assignment
