About The Position

The Community Coordinator serves as the single point of contact, convener, facilitator, and implementer of the Louisiana Prisoner Reentry Initiative (LA-PRI) in the local community. The Community Coordinator partners and maintains effective working relationships with local, state, and federal elected/appointed officials, community leaders, and the public; ensures stakeholder knowledge and solicits program support and sponsorship from diverse groups within the community; addresses community concerns by serving as a liaison between the local community, support staff, affiliated agencies, and the public to ensure the execution of program logistics, client success, and system-wide change; assists justice impacted individuals with barriers to employment by providing services such as job readiness training and job placement services.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/HiSET equivalency.
  • Two (2) years of experience in office administration is required.
  • Must be experienced with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience and/or desire to work with offenders re-entering the community is required.
  • Possess a privately owned vehicle, a valid license, and automobile insurance, or must be able to access locations, possibly at a moments notice that may not be accessible by public transportation.
  • A background screening will be completed as a condition of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Attended or graduated from an accredited college or university in Social Work, Counseling, Human Services, Criminal Justice, or in a related field preferred.
  • Experience with Canva and excell preferred.
