About The Position

Lake Shore Public Schools is seeking friendly, dependable, and customer-focused individuals to serve as Community Center Assistants. Community Center Assistants help support the daily operation of the Lake Shore Community Center and ensure that members, visitors, and program participants have a welcoming, safe, and positive experience. Multiple positions are available with highly flexible scheduling. This is a great opportunity for individuals looking for part-time work that can fit around school, another job, retirement, family responsibilities, or other commitments.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and respond appropriately to visitor needs and routine facility concerns.
  • Ability to maintain a professional and welcoming environment for individuals of all ages.
  • Willingness to perform light cleaning and facility setup responsibilities.
  • Ability to move and set up recreational equipment, tables, chairs, and other materials.
  • Reliable attendance.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in customer service, recreation, fitness, schools, or community programming is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Greet Community Center members, visitors, program participants, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Verify memberships and assist visitors with facility access and general questions.
  • Provide information regarding Community Center programs, activities, schedules, and facility use.
  • Set up and take down equipment, tables, chairs, and other materials for programs, activities, rentals, and special events.
  • Assist with recreational activities and programs taking place throughout the facility.
  • Monitor Community Center areas and help ensure facilities and equipment are being used appropriately and safely.
  • Clean and sanitize fitness and recreational equipment and help maintain clean, organized, and welcoming spaces.
  • Assist with opening, closing, and securing Community Center spaces as assigned.
  • Report facility, equipment, safety, or maintenance concerns to the appropriate staff member.
  • Provide general support to Community Center staff and perform other duties as assigned.
