About The Position

This campaign is a coordinated effort to elect progressive candidates in several key districts, in partnership with the Natural Resource Defense Council. The role involves direct voter outreach through door-to-door canvassing to support candidates who champion progressive values and encourage voter participation. This position offers valuable experience in leadership, communication, advocacy, community outreach, campaign work, public policy, and social enterprise.

Requirements

Passionate about progressive politics and fostering democracy
Strong communication skills; you should enjoy working with other people and be willing and excited to speak with everyone
Hard worker who will stay motivated to engage as many people as possible
Open to new challenges and are interested in building their campaign skills
Culturally competent and able to respectfully engage with teammates and the community
Eligible to work in the US.
Upon hire, everyone will be required to present original, and unexpired documents from the Lists of Acceptable Documents to complete the I-9 form verification.

Nice To Haves

Prior canvassing experience is preferred, but not required.
Fluent bilingual speaker

Responsibilities

Paid training at $20/hr for the first 3 days.
Engage with the public in a friendly and respectful manner
Deliver a compelling campaign message, and collect complete survey answers from voters
Participate in staff training to improve outreach skills
Follow the campaign's safety protocols
Manage a small group of canvassers out in the field by checking in with them periodically throughout the day, and debriefing with them at the end of the day
Ensure each canvasser has all of the materials they need to be successful
Assist directors with canvasser training and administrative work
