About The Position
People Creating Success (PCS) is hiring a Community Based Support Professional / F.A.D.E. Associate to support adults with developmental disabilities in Ventura County. F.A.D.E. (Facilitating Alternative Day Environments) and C.I.T.P. (Community Integration Training Program) are community-based day services that help participants take part in their communities and increase their access to the workforce. The role involves supporting community participation, volunteering, events, independent living skills, and progress toward person-centered goals. Work locations include Oxnard, Ventura, Conejo Valley, and surrounding areas. The position is part-time, with flexible shifts of 15–35 hours per week, at $20.60 per hour. Mileage reimbursement and a $10-per-month cell phone stipend are offered.
Requirements
- Compassionate, people-oriented mindset.
- Curiosity and interest in connecting with others and supporting community endeavors.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Responsible, with the ability to assist in tracking progress toward goals.
- Must be at least 21 years old.
- CPR/First Aid certification; training will be provided if not certified or recertification is needed.
Responsibilities
- Support participants with volunteering, attending events, and exploring their community.
- Encourage and model independent living skills.
- Assist participants in meeting goals through person-centered planning.
- Encourage participants to be physically active and take part in meaningful, enjoyable activities.
- Provide dependable, positive support in participants’ day-to-day lives.
- Support individuals experiencing heightened emotional responses, complex behaviors, or sensory overload using proactive redirection and calming techniques.
- Recognize early signs of stress or escalation and guide individuals through personalized self-regulation strategies.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and detailed shift logs and progress notes.
- Assist with tracking progress toward goals.
