Community Based Prevocational Services Specialist
About The Position
The Community Based Prevocational Services Specialist is overseen by the Operations Director of Day & Community Services and the Assistant Directors as well as Supervisory Staff of Community Based Prevocational Services Program (805). This role involves supervising individuals enrolled in the program to pursue volunteer opportunities, assisting them during these activities, and developing relationships with community partners to help participants gain vocational skills. The specialist will also be responsible for carrying out the daily/weekly schedule, including transportation for participants, and maintaining ongoing training as per OPWDD Regulations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma
- Valid N.Y. State Drivers License
Responsibilities
- Supervise individuals enrolled in the program to pursue a variety of volunteer opportunities.
- Assist individuals while engaging in community volunteer activities.
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships with community partners at volunteer sites providing participants with opportunities to gain vocational skills.
- Carry out the daily/weekly schedule including transportation for the program participants.
- Maintain ongoing training as per OPWDD Regulations in both Rise trainings and OPWDD Eleversity training specific to support employment activities, programming (Precision Care) each program day to prevocational activities, and outcomes as outlined in their Life Plans, and State Laws.
