About The Position

Since 1879, Tanager has been dedicated to supporting children and families in Linn County, evolving its mission with community needs. Today, it serves over 4,000 children and teens annually through prevention, treatment, and outreach programs, aiming to Inspire, Empower, and Heal. As a Community Based BHIS Caseworker, the role involves working directly with children and their families to provide skill-building services addressing their mental health needs. Services are client-centered, strengths-based, professional, and compassionate. The caseworker encourages positive behaviors and actions and coordinates with other professionals to ensure comprehensive services. Skill-building focuses on cognitive flexibility, communication, conflict resolution, executive functioning, interpersonal relationships, problem-solving, and social skills. The position offers scheduling flexibility to meet client needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree in social work or related human services field
  • Minimum of one-year relevant post-degree experience in the human services field
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work
  • Must possess a valid Drivers License and meet the driving requirements of the Agency

Responsibilities

  • Working directly with children and their families to provide skill building services addressing their mental health needs
  • Delivering direct care services that are client-centered, strengths-based, professional and compassionate
  • Working closely with clients to encourage positive behaviors and actions
  • Providing indirect coordination and collaboration with other professionals to ensure comprehensive services that benefit the child and family
  • Focusing skill-building services on seven key areas: cognitive flexibility, communication, conflict resolution, executive functioning, interpersonal relationships, problem-solving, and social skills
